Dolores Smith is the creative force behind Timeworn Toolbox Designs. Twelve years ago, while making their annual trip to Paducah, she and her friend Sarah Maxwell, decided to finally open the quilt shop they had always dreamed of, and Homestead Hearth was born. The shop has become a must-see destination in central Missouri, recognized as a Top Ten shop by Quilt Sampler magazine! Dolores' English bulldog, Oliver, is a frequent visitor to the shop -- has a special perch near the front windows where he watches for the daily UPS deliveries, in hopes of a treat.

Dolores has co-authored several books published by Kansas City Star, and is working on a fifth one with the Kansas City Star and C&T Publishing.

Dolores Smith has lived in Mexico, MO. most of her life. She married her best friend 33 years ago and together they have two wonderful sons, Ryan and Kyle. Now that her youngest son Kyle has graduated college and married, she is ready to design fabrics and patterns that will coordinate with them. Her designs under the Timeworn Toolbox Designs brand will reflect her love of wool and aged, vintage fabrics.
