Shannon is a reformed architect and costume designer who is learning to mastering what it means to be her. With a lifetime of making in all forms as her toolset she stumbled across a $3 tin recipe box and immediately filled it with a business dream; all on index cards. The dream of Eva Blake’s Makery became a reality in 2012 where she designs sewing and surface patterns, and hosts crafting events. She has also recently launched a Learn to Sew series on YouTube teaching the very basics of sewing to people afraid of needles and thread. Shannon has been blogging since 2006 at Mastering the Art of Being Me where she shares the stories of other creative women and delves into her own ‘being me’ story. After a decade of east coast living, she now lives and dreams in Tucson, Arizona with her family of all boys.
