Leanne Beasley of Leanne’s House loves nothing more than sharing creativity with other women. She says her mission is “to creatively inspire women all over the world; whether they have ten minutes a day or can spare a little more time”.
While basing herself in her forest’s edge cottage studio in Ferny Creek, about an hour from Melbourne, Australia, she is most likely to be found digging in her garden, her main source of design inspiration. “There’s something about the garden that makes you feel alive and think clearly – the colors of whichever plants are in flower, a new recipe to cook with something that’s growing in the vegetable patch, a new stitching design from a group of flowers. Of course, I see things in terms of fabric inspiration more than anything now!”
One of Leanne’s greatest passions is her magazine, Vignette, which features all things stitching with a little gardening, cooking, and decorating added in. Also in Leanne’s regular agenda are her well-loved overseas textile trips, local workshops, guest teaching and even photography! In between all that she writes stand alone patterns under the Leanne’s House label.
