French Roses

French Roses by Heather French  (57” x 57”)


This quilt is a fun and fast way to get a lovely Shabby Sheek look without the sticky fusible.  This class will have 2 sessions. In the first session we will cut our fabric for the entire quilt and learn how to form our roses. The second session will be 2 weeks later (so you can have time to complete all your roses before class 2) and we will piece and attach the borders. 

Class supplies:

  • French Roses pattern (Available for purchase in store)
  • Marking pens (for tracing as well as erasable to help with placement) Frixion pens are great.
  • Template plastic 12” x 18” square
  • Various rulers – 6”x24”, 12” square
  • Rotary Cutter, Mat, Scissors (sharp small scissors will be very helpful)
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine in good working order
  • Bobbins


Fabric Requirements:

Fabric:  Background and Outer Border 2 2/3 yards

Flowers, Inner Border & Binding ¾ yard of 5 coordinating fabrics

Leaves: 1 fat quarter or an 1/8th yard

Backing: 2 yards of 90” wide or 4 yards standard bolt width

Thread: Coordinating thread that will be visible from the top of your quilt.
