Quilt As You Go Braided Table Runner

Spend the afternoon learning to Quilt As You Go! Before you know it you will have a competed table runner and lots of ideas of how to use this technique again.  You will be able to choose between two styles of table runners.  One is squared at the corners, the other is pointed.  You can also choose to have an accent square as the center of your braid.  Sample coming soon!

Fabric Requirements:

Batting 15 x 44 or Fusible Fleece
Backing Fabric 16 x WOF (I recommend a busy print to hide starts and stops)
(3) 2 1/2" strips WOF for binding
(1) 8 1/2" square for center focus fabric
22 9" strips (mine are 2" wide but you can use Jelly Rolls)
22 11" strips (mine are 2" wide but you can use a Jelly Roll) Your strips can be entirely scrappy or coordinated. To make it coordinated you will need a minimum of 2 9" strips and 2 11" strips.

You will need general sewing materials such as a working machine, needles, pins, scissors, coordinating thread, large ruler...
Spray baste will be useful for applying the center square as well as stabilizing the batting to the backing fabric.  Pins can also be used.

Precut all your strips before class.  If your strips are longer than needed they will be trimmed off after sewing.
