Petals Wool Pincushion!

Learn the basic skills of wool applique using embroidery stitches that enable you to create this darling show piece of gift! Yes, you can use it too!

Included in the class are selecting, cutting and placement of the wool pieces; embroidery stitches to hold the wool in place. With the pattern, instructions and techniques learned, the pincushion may be completed at home if you don't get it finished by the end of class~

Students will learn to make freezer paper patterns and work with placement guide templates and learn basting techniques for increased accuracy. Students will learn specific surface embroidery stitches (such as the colonial knot) and needle slanting techniques for adding dimension to the work. Tools that make working in felted wool easy and fun will be introduced. Traditional surface embroidery stitches will also be used and the construction of the final pin cushion will be fully discussed.
